Too many kids are spending too little time outdoors. And that is a problem that is drawing more attention from lots of different audiences today.

Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors works to find mentors for children who want to experience the great outdoors we all know and love. Teaming with youth mentoring organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, who have over 100 years of mentoring experience, we can make a difference in the lives of children across the country.

If today’s children grow up without a connection to the outdoors and without an appreciation for our traditional outdoor pursuits such as hunting and fishing, these future generations will not have the care for our natural world that has seen wildlife populations flourish. Nor will they have the respect for our natural resources that has seen the establishment of natural parks that have preserved the beauty and majesty of this great nation.

In addition to connecting these children to nature, the mentoring aspect of the program is just as important. Mentoring works. Research has shown, time and again, how children who have mentors do better in school, stay out of trouble and have better chance at success than their peers who do not have a mentor.

Using sound and safe mentoring principles to give at-risk children the opportunity to connect with the outdoors, Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors impacts the lives of thousands of children across the country.
